Happy 100th Birthday Oreo!!!!

Growing up, it was always a tradition, or even just more of a routine, getting home from school or for breakfast on weekends (breakfasts & snacks throughout the day) to have a glass of milk with Oreos.  Now, we all know that everyone has their own way of eating Oreos; mine was to drown them in my glass of milk with a spoon until I would see bits and pieces of the Oreo floating atop-that’s when I knew the Oreo was starting to soften, almost to the point of ready to eat.  I needed my Oreos to be completely soaked and almost falling apart.  I never wanted to feel not one bit of a crunch in my Oreos. [shrugs shoulders] What can I say, that was just MY way of eating MY Oreos. BUT, it wasn’t over at that point.  What remained in my glass of milk-the bits and pieces-suddenly became this amazing Oreo Milk drink.  What could possibly be better than finishing off a bunch of soggy Oreos with a nice glass of Oreo Milk??! MMMmmm I could just picture it right now: me, as a little girl, in my school uniform, covered in Oreo madness on my face and hands, with black teeth, with not a care in the world, just caught up in the moment of enjoying my Oreos.   Truth is, I must admit, nothing much has changed to now. Haha

What’s even better now though, is that I get to watch my kids enjoy Oreos and eat them in their own little ways.   Funny enough, the two of them are the ones who separate the cookies to only eat the filling. [shakes head] I never understood this method of eating Oreos. I’ve tried repeatedly to change their Oreo ways so they could enjoy them as much as I do but I’ve come to realize that they actually DO enjoy them ALOT.  It’s probably just as fun for them to separate them, lick them as it was for me to drown them with my spoon.

Now, my fiance? He has no particular way of eating them.  He enjoys them in any which way he possibly could.  I guess it goes according to his craving-whether he wants it dipped in milk, whole-straight out of the package, separated for filling only, or crushed in milk as a drink or even an Oreo shake.  He gets the best of all Oreo worlds! Haha

Oreo eating methods are different for everyone, there is no “right” way to eat an Oreo.  But at the end of the day, ENJOYING Oreos is really what is universal.

In honor of Oreo’s 100th birthday, I’m sharing with you all the “Delectably Delicious Method of Eating Oreos”:
